How can I measure power usage on a device that doesn't support power metering?
Answer
Yes it is possible to measure power usage on a device that doesn't support power metering.
In such cases you need to manually define the Load power usage which will make the controller estimate the power consumption based on that value.
Solution
Let’s say you have a 60W Load attached to a simple On/Off Wall Socket that doesn’t do Power metering.
Fibaro Home Center
- Go to the device "Advanced" tab and scroll down to the "Declared power consumption" section.
- Set the desired power consumption and "Save".
- Go back to the devices Dashboard and check if the power consumption functionality is working as expected.

- Go to the device "Settings" tab and find the "Energy used" field.
- Set the desired power consumption and "Save" changes.
- Go back to the devices Dashboard and check if the power consumption functionality is working as expected.
