Multiple questions --> What is the difference between the bi-stable and the contactor switch ? I need to switch a load of ~ 4k W (electrical water heater) which uses a double switch (live+neutral), which one suits better ? Do u have any feedback from Vera users that have managed to add them in their network (smart meter, contactor, bi-stable) ? View answer

Sensor 6 has several flaws. Reset button link via a piece of dodgy plastic, poor light level reading, poor UV reading.Apart from these, it was very good. Have they been addressed in Sensor 7? E.G. What range is read for the light level? Can I trust the reset mechanism? Can I assume it will work well with RaZberry? View answer

The marketing and product box for this item promotes that you can plug it in and power it from a nearby socket. They show this in the manual for the US 110v version , but for the UK/EU 230v version it suggests it has to be hard wired into the main consumer unit ?As I have a socket right next to the consumer unit? Please could someone explain why I can’t connect the power cable to a UK plug and power it, rather than pay for an electrician to hardwire it? View answer

We are rewiring the house and as part of this will have a neutral at each switch. Two questions I have are 1) for loads less than 50W is a bypass still required even in a 3 wire setup? 2) is there a cheaper alternative to the fibaro which still offers smooth LED dimming? Thanks. View answer

Which z wave stick / hub / device do you recommend for use with Secure Thermostat / Receiver and Homeseer? Please note I am a long time user of Homeseer (early 2000) upgrading from HS1,2 to HS3. For the last 15 years I have used a purpose designed multi (6) zone system controlled by Homeseer running Xap plugin to Phaedrus NETIOM to create heating scenes. I am now moving on to an existing single zone combi boiler dwelling. I have no desire or requirement to rejig the new system to a plumbed multi-zone effort. I see this combination as a first step to migrate to a zwave set up from my X10 devices, curing the heating issue in the process. View answer

you said: Popp Mains Adapter can be used to power up the Z-Wave Popp Smoke Detector with mains supply. It eliminates the need to insert batteries in your smoke detector. after we tried to install it without battery it doesn't work then we contacted aeotec support they said: The smoke detector only works with the battery inserted. The smoke detector standard stipulates this. The 12 V supply serves to support the lifetime of the device by supplying the Z-Wave circuit board with external voltage. This doubles the lifetime of the 9V battery. could you explain please? Ahmad View answer
