How does the thermostat in a room that is too cold turn the boiler on so that the radiator can be supplied with hot water. You can’t leave the boiler set on permanently. In most UK central heating systems there is a central thermostat and or programmer that determines when the boiler switches on or off. View answers

Can the connection lead be extended? I would install 2 units, one for internal temperature the other extended to approx 4m for external temperature, only the last bit of the of the extended one would need to be waterproof. View answers

Where is the Aeotec bypass? Aeotec's website still says that it will be available "early 2017", and yet here we are here in September and I cannot see much evidence of its availability. Does anyone have any insights into when it will be available? Thanks. View answer

Hi all, I have installed a couple of these (fgs223) on a 2 way switch. One is an on off switch and the other is a dimmer. I've put the switches behind the on off switch. That bit works well but now the separate dimmer won't dim it only switches on and off. Any suggestions? View answers

Hi there, I'm looking for a Z-wave dry contact switch, connected to my existing pilot wires from the boiler. Not really fussed about it being a thermostat, as all I need is to be able to remotely turn the heating on or off. I don't want to have to change out anything with the existing boiler's timer / programmer. I intend to leave it heating turned on at the boiler indefinitely, and the dry contact switch as the main on-off. I can then use scenes to control timing if need be. I don't think this Secure product is built for that since it needs replacing the boiler's timer / programmer. Can you kindly recommend a suitable product? Thanks in advance. View answers

Can this be used with the 2 channel boiler receiver? If so, how does it manage the hot water channel? I have a Razberry but wanted this to manage in the case of its failure (and because I understand it will manage the boiler better?) View answers

I think I need this, since my LED lamp still glows a bit when it should be off, but am not clear on how it is meant to be fitted. The wiring diagram in the manual is hopeless - so do you have to put this inside the light fitting somehow ? I don't see where it would physically go, to bridge across the bulb. There are two lights driven by the same switch, so do I need to bypass them both ? View answers

What connectors do I need to order to extend this cable? I can get them from Farnell or RS if I know what are used. I'm assuming that this is a 1-wire sensor as it has three wires, pwr, gnd and the 1-wire bus, and that means that it can be extended to quite a few metres and I need to pick up the outside temperature... Can these be placed in an unfinished loft/attic? Some smoke detectors specifically state not to place them in an unfinished attic (e.g. Nest Protect) due to the large temp changes etc. Could not find anything specific re. these so thought I would pose the question here. Thanks chaps! View answers

How many 240V GU10 Led Bulbs (Dimmable ones) can the FD2 support? I have 3 light fittings for outside my house that house 2 GU10 240 Bulbs or GU10 240V Dimmable Bulbs. I am going to use the LED Dimmable bulbs which on the box say "Use only 7 watts per bulb". So a total of 6 bulbs in 3 light housings. I'm going to wire them back to a junction box in parellel (not serial) and into then into the FB2 but was worried that 6 bulbs of this type (or even 10) would fry it? I have the original Fibaro Bypass Module also (FGB001) which I bought a few years ago but never used, could I use this if I need it? The LED 240v GU10 bulbs are "dimmable" Thanks! Andy View answers

The product information mentions backup and restore feature. I understand this is to backup and restore the network to save on manually rebuilding the network in the situation of having to replace the stick (eg. if stick fails). Where can I find information about how to perform backup and restore? View answers

I read the following in the manual: Rated output power 8A for single output channel,13A at max.(3,25A for R.G.B.W. single output channel is suggested) I'm planing to control two strips of LED with the RGBW-Dimmer. Using two of the four channels. How much power (current) can each of the two LED-strips have? (I'm using a 24V driver). Maybe 13A/2 = 6.5A per channel? View answer
