It refers to the length of each LED strip - 2m is optimal to ensure no voltage over further distances where you might chain together many lengths of LED strip.
So for example if you've calculated that you can use 6m of a particular LED strip within the load tolerances of the RGBW Controller 2, then you should connect that 6m in parallel i.e. 3 sections of 2m.
