Hi Huw,The door sensor wires into the Qubino module (note it can only be used when the module is powered from 24VDC). It will appear in the Z-Wave controller as a separate child device of the main module. How this actually works will depend on the Z-Wave controller you're using and how it handles the sensor.

The unit can be fed with either 240v AC or 24v dC. I would suggest you use either 240v SC OR 24V DC. In your case feed the unit with 24v DC and take a tap via the Z-Wave controlled relay to action a device. The relay can be permanently set to on or pulsed on for a pre-determned time. My curtains need a pulsed ON for 5 seconds to operate. The next ON will reverse the curtains. There is also a temperature option to switch the relay based on pre defined temperature. I use others to switch on house lights and these are housed in a DIN enclosure.I use Homeseer. M

Looks like my gates have power supplies from 240v ac and 24v ac. No dc in there. So does that mean I can't use the door sensor with this because I'd be using 250v ac?

Didn't measure the contact that triggers the gate, I'm assuming low power as the wires are extremely small.
