I have one outside under cover in my porch and it's fine as shelterd from the elements . Without cover from rain etc. I don't think it will last as not IP rated.

If there is good signal then it should, but it's not weather proof.

It would work but it probably wouldn't last last long outside as it's not waterproof (no IP rating) and it's certainly not designed to brave the elements.

The motion sensor doesn't appear to be IP rated, so if it might get exposed to rain it might get damaged.
Also, the motion sensor is pretty sensitive to changes in heat, so you might get fall alarms from breezes or changes in temperature through the day. Although this can be mitigated by changing the parameters to make the motion sensor more or less sensitive.
Do also take note that the motion sensor can easily be removed from its wall bracket.

Hi. I don't think it is rated in the UK for outside use. We used a different brand for outdoors that was IP44 (waterproof) rated. On the Fibaro videos they show it outdoors, but if you look it is sheltered and probably in a country where it doesn't rain much. FYI we got a Everspring sp103 motion detector. It's IP44 rated, but it's not as discreet as the Fibaro. It works well. Good luck.

If you think about it, it can sense in the dark within a room. So it could potentially be used to sense externally, but it would need a degree of weather protection and external walls are a lot more dense/thicker than internal ones, so a weak signal could be a problem, especially as the device is battery powered. Hope this helps.

Thank you all - I'll give one a go in a sheltered spot.
