Not sure what you mean by "configured", but since this is a 3-wire (with Neutral) device you could simply not connect it to the Load.
That way the device itself won't operate the Load at all, but your Z-Wave Controller would still receive the on / off / dim status reports when the device is manually activated. You can then use those as a Trigger to a Scene that controls your smart light bulb.
An alternative would be to use a battery operated wall controller, typically this would give you much more flexibility.
